Phil Tarley Retrospective: April 28

Master Photo Book Maker Carlos Benitez, proprietor of Photo Books,  Hollywood,  announces the opening of his photography gallery, Artist’s Corner with a retrospective show of the work of Phil Tarley on Saturday, April 28th at 7pm.   Artist’s Corner is a part of Benitez’s Photo Book  workshop in Hollywood.

Phil Tarley is a Cinematography Fellow of the American Film Institute and an artist member of the Los Angles Art Association, where he has shown his work in their Gallery 825 on La Cienega Boulevard and is currently featured in an international group photography show.   He has also showed at Pharmaka,  LACDA , The Loft at Liz’s and at Twentieth on Beverly Boulevard among others.  His photographs, videos and Films have shown at The American Film Institute Festival, at The Guggenheim, The New York Public Library and at galleries and festivals here in the US and abroad.

As it’s art and pop culture critic, Tarley regularly posts stories on The WOW Report and writes feature articles about contemporary art and photography for both  Fabrik’s print and web magazines. He has three  stories in Fabrik’s current all-photography MOPLA issue.  As an art journalist he has covered the Art Basel Miami Beach contemporary art shows every year since its inception in 2002.

Tarley’s show will feature his celebrity photography, images from his formal body of work Syntactic Assemblages, photographs from his on-going series of self Portraits, works from Exotica, Living Wet,  as well as examples from Transformational Power of Sun Glasses, Tarley’s most recent body of work.
